Eucalyptus

Baby Blue

This popular favorite is available all year and is well known for its round, silver to gray leaves which spike out horizontally along thick, erect, silver-green stems. Baby Blue is very fragrant, can be used fresh or preserved, and can be stem-dyed to subtle shades of color.

Diamond Eucalyptus

Greenish gray, diamond-shaped leaves flourish beautifully along sturdy white to pinkish-gray stems. This versatile variety can be used fresh or preserved and can be dyed to any color. Available all year, the diamond eucalyptus has a long vase life.

Gunni Eucalyptus

Sometimes called Bonsaii eucalyptus, this variety lends a light, airy look to any bouquet. Gray to green, oval to spade-shaped leaves swirl along silver-barked stems and can be stem-dyed to any color. Gunni can be used fresh or dried and is available all year.

Moon Lagoon Eucalyptus

Moon Lagoon is the newest addition to the eucalyptus varieties at Obra Verde Growers. Dainty masses of blue-gray to green-gray, spade-shaped leaves flourish on light blond to light green stems. Available all year, this variety can be used both fresh or preserved, and can be stem-dyed to any color. It is also very fragrant.

Seeded Eucalyptus (Pulverlenta)

Commonly known as "seeded eucalyptus", this variety is actually the mature leaf of an older pulverlenta tree. As the name implies, "seeded" refers to the immature flower pods that occur in clusters among the diamond-to spade-shaped, gray-green leaves.

A popular addition to most any bouquet, this variety can be used as both a filler green and a "fringe" green which drapes gracefully around the perimeter of an arrangement. Available from August through December, seeded eucalyptus can be used fresh or dried.

Sweetheart Eucalyptus (Webstriana)

Sweetheart boasts very stiff, heart-shaped, masses of solid-gray leaves which are supported by light to dark brown stems. This variety is especially popular for Valentine's Day bouquets and is known for its long vase life. Sweetheart is a relative newcomer to the floral industry and is available all year as both a fresh and dried product.

Silver Dollar Eucalyptus (Polyanthemos)

Silver Dollar is one of the most popular of the Eucalyptus fillers. Available year round, this blue-gray, round-leafed variety makes a spectacular addition to any arrangement. The stem colors compliment the leaves in hues ranging from silver-gray at the tips to a rich, oak-brown at the base. This variety is well-known for its long vase life and can be used fresh or preserved.

Willow Eucalyptus (Nicolai)

Willow Eucalyptus is also called Feather Eucalyptus and adds a very light and airy touch to floral arrangements. Willow is well-known for its cascading characteristic, with long, thin leaves in colors ranging from light-to dark-grayish-green and stems of rich brown. Available all year, willow is used both fresh and preserved.

All of the above varieties are available in plant form.
